Each ontology can be associated with metadata:

  • projects that use the ontology. You can add a new project by specifying its name, URL, institution and contact person, or select one from a list of existing projects.
  • categories: the subject field of an ontology can be specified using one or more categories
  • tasks
  • license models: you can select among various licences
  • formality levels: you can select among different formality levels:
    • vocabulary (list of words)
    • terminology (list of concepts with definitions)
    • taxonomy (terminology with subsumption hierarchy)
    • axiomatization (ontology with axioms beyond a pure subsumption hierarchy)
